Wellesley Memorial Day Ceremony Set for May 30

Events will be held at the Wellesley War Memorial and Woodlawn Cemetery.

Wellesley's annual Memorial Day Ceremony will be held Fri., May 30.

At 7 p.m., a ceremony will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery. The program includes:

  • Invocation
  • Reading of the past year's departed veterans
  • A salute to the dead
  • Taps
  • Benediction
At 7:30 p.m., a ceremony will be held at the Wellesley War Memorial. The program includes:
  • Invocation
  • National Anthem
  • Pledge of Allegiance
  • Placing of memorial wreath
  • Reading of Wellesley citizens who have died in service
  • Memorial Day reading
  • Presentation of war memorial scholarship award
  • Speaker James C. Stokes
  • Reading of past year's departed veterans
  • Salute to the dead
  • Taps
  • American the Beautiful
  • Benediction
In case of bad weather, the ceremony will be held at Wellesley High School.
