Wellesley-Resident Wins Best Antenna Design and Application Paper at EuCAP Conference
Northeastern University's Carey Rappaport recognized in Portugal.

Professor Carey Rappaport of Northeastern University’s College of Engineering won the best Antenna Design and Application Paper award at the 9th European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EuCAP) in Lisbon, Portugal last week.
EuCAP is designed to “provide an overview of the current state-of-the-art in Antennas, Propagation and Measurements topics, highlighting the latest developments and innovations required for future applications.” Held from April 12 to 17th, the conference solicited over 1,300 papers, with 1,019 ultimately presented and 1,260 researchers and scientists in attendance.
Professor Rappaport’s submission, co-authored by former Northeastern Senior Research Engineer Borja Gonzalez Valdes, is titled “Multistatic Nearfield Imaging Radar for Portal Security Systems Using a High Gain Toroidal Reflector Antenna.” With just 4 categories for the 1,000+ papers, Prof. Rappaport’s win is all the more impressive.
