Wellesley Participates Bigtime in the Massachusetts Food Challenge
All the Wellesley schools are going to "eat real" that day.

Food Day, the national campaign for more healthy, affordable, and sustainably produced food takes place on Oct. 24 across all 50 states and Massachusetts organizations are preparing to share, educate and collaborate for a better food system,.
Massachusetts ranked second in the country, with more than 640 activities. Participation was for the campaign that is likened to an “Earth Day for Food.”

That means they’re going to “Eat Real” and The School Nutrition Program will serve a fresh and local Food Day Breakfast and Lunch that also reduces or eliminates all processed foods as part of Food Day, the nationwide movement for more healthy, affordable, and sustainable food.
Hundreds of organizers and volunteers in dozens of towns and cities highlight healthy, locally produced food, advocate for policies that support productive and respectful food systems.
Events range from panels, film screenings, community potlucks, “Eating Real” school challenges, and farmers’ markets, festivals, food demos, family dinners with food focused discussion, and so much more.
