The chief was honored Saturday for his efforts to reduce gun violence in the state.

WELLESLEY, MA - Wellesley's own Chief Terrence Cunningham received this year's 'Peace-MVP' award at a ceremony Saturday.

Cunningham was honored for his determined effort to curb gun violence in Massachusetts. He has worked with the Massachusetts Chiefs of Polices and State Legislature to add suitability to the criteria to obtain a gun license in the state and serves as President of the International Association of Chiefs of Police at both the state and national level.

Using his status in the organization he has sought out ways to reduce gun violence, while respecting individuals' Second Amendment rights.
