Wellesley Police Officers Help Elderly Woman Home

These members of the Wellesley Police Department embody the term "community policing."

WELLESLEY, MA – Two Wellesley police officers on Thursday defined the term "community policing" when they came across an elderly woman trying to get home.

According to a post on the Wellesley Police Department Facebook page, officers Mark Knapp and Ron Poirier assisted the woman, who got lost after shopping on Linden Street. She was trying to find the train station but ended up walking up Oak Street away from the stop.

After checking to make sure she was okay, Knapp and Poirier brought her (and her groceries) home themselves.
