Wellesley Resident Named MassBay Student Trustee

Monica Signorino, a sophomore liberal arts major, has served as Student Government Association Senator since the spring.

WELLESLEY, MA – Wellesley resident Monica Signorino was recently named the Student Trustee of Massachusetts Bay Community College.

Signorino, a sophomore liberal arts major, has served as the Student Government Association Senator since the spring. She is also a peer tutor at MassBay, a mentor through the MassBay Leadership Association's partnership with Big Brothers-Big Sisters, served as an orientation leader and is a cheerleader for the basketball team.

She plans to graduate with an associate degree in May and transfer to a four-year university, where she will pursue a bachelor's degree in chemistry to become a school teacher.

"I’m honored to be the MassBay Student Trustee, ensuring all student voices are heard," Signorino said in a statement. "I wanted to serve as Student Trustee after I served as an orientation leader this summer and I heard from many students. I felt this would be a position where I could help the community and foster a better relationship among students, faculty and staff. I’m excited to serve and I look forward to the year ahead."

Signorino is a lifelong resident of Wellesley and graduated from Wellesley High School in 2013.
