Wellesley Residents Attend Christmas In July Fundraiser

Guests sipped holiday-themed cocktails, placed their bid on an array of raffle and live auction items and even had the chance to see Santa!

From Christmas in the City: Known by many as the “Fenway Hat Lady,” Wellesley residents and avid Red Sox fans Lynne Smith and her husband, Gary, ditched the Sox for an evening of holiday cheer at the Seaport Hotel for the annual Christmas in July celebration to benefit Christmas in the City. Lynne, Gary and over 150 supporters helped raise nearly $15,000 and over 30 new toys for Christmas in the City, a 100% volunteer-run organization that supports and mentors Boston’s homeless population and provides 18,000 children in need with toys during the holiday season. Guests sipped holiday-themed cocktails, placed their bid on an array of raffle and live auction items and even had the chance to see Santa himself! Event founder Jake Kennedy and his wife, Sparky, kicked off the evening with special guest and Wellesley resident Michael Felger from 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Felger & Mazz show. When the live auction began, Felger offered to have two separate Felger & Massarotti studio visits and lunch dates in order to help raise more money for the cause.
