Wellesley Society of Artists Sponors First Art Demo of the Season
If you have never attended a live artist demonstration, you will be in for a treat as Maris Platais creates a painting from start to finish.
Every year the Wellesley Society of Artists (WSA) sponsors free, open to the public, live artist demos. Maris Platais is a well known landscape artist and will feature a demo on Sunday, September 27th from 2-4pm in the Wellesley Community Center at 219 Washington St., Wellesley. He will demonstrate painting with acrylics on canvas.
Maris Platais was born in Latvia but has lived in New England since 1947. He notes that in his painting he aims to create harmony from what he sees in nature, and his composition and colors do indeed effect a strong sense of aesthetic harmony in his art.
In additon, the WSA will be presenting their Fall Exhibit and Juried Show at the Community Center . The exhibit will remain through the Spring. Learn more about the WSA and membership by visiting their website at www.wellesleysocietyofartists.org
