Wellesley South Little League in Final Four
The Wellesley South Williamsport All-Stars have made the state's championship round.

WELLESLEY, MA – The Wellesley South Williamsport All-Stars are in the Massachusetts Little League Final Four.
Wellesley earned its spot in the title round by defeating Medford Blue earlier this month to win the Section 3 championship. Matthew Henshon, one of the Wellesley South coaches, said every win is a full team effort.
"Literally every kid contributed to us winning, and that's how this team wins," Henshon said. "Some teams are built around one player - we have really good players up and down the line."

Now, the focus turns to the state championship. Here's how it works:
Four teams play in a round robin-style tournament, each playing the other once. At the end of it, the teams with the top two records advance to the state championship game, scheduled for Sunday, July 31. If two teams are tied, then records in head-to-head competition are used.
The other three teams in the tournament are Beverly, Pittsfield American, and Fairhaven/Aschunet. Wellesley South plays Fairhaven/Acushnet Thursday at 7:15 p.m., takes on Pittsfield American Friday at 7, and has Beverly Saturday at 3.
All games are set to be played at Morrison Field in Westwood.
