Wellesley Traffic Stop Turns Into Stolen Mail Arrest

When officers pulled the car over they noticed tools used to illegally remove mail from mailboxes.

WELLESLEY, MA — A traffic stop on Friday night in Wellesley turned into an arrest with three men facing burglary related charges.

Two men were parked on Crest Road when police noticed their license plate was flagged as a vehicle that was possibly connected to a mail theft. As the car was driving along Washington Street, it failed to pull over for an ambulance — police pulled the men over for the violation, according to police.

The officer who approached the car noticed there were tools used to illegally remove mail from U.S. mail boxes along with a large number of credit or gift cards and cash in a console between the back seats. The drier and passenger were taken into custody, according to police.
