Wellesley Voting Resources and Information for Tuesday’s Election

Links, ballot and poling place information for Tuesday's annual town-wide election.

It is election season in the United States. With the behind us, Wellesley’s annual town-wide election will take place Tuesday, March 13.

Here are some facts and resources for all of your election day needs:

  • There are now, for the first time, eight precincts, which means there are eight polling places. Find yours.
  • Each precinct will elect 30 town meeting members, but precincts B, E, and F will need additional candidates – entered as write ins – to complete the complement of town meeting  members, according to the town’s website.
  • There are two contested races for public town office positions:

The Board of Selectmen has three candidates vying for two seats. Incumbent Terri Tsagaris, Royall H. Switzler and Planning Board chair Donald S. McCaulley are on the ballot. Selectmen serve a term of three years.

The School Committee has three candidates vying for two seats. Committee member K.C. Kato, Tere Ramos and Jennifer E. Looper are on the ballot. School Committee members serve a term of three years.

  • There is a referendum question on this year’s ballot, which asks the public if it will accept an act passed by the general court this year to allow the town to grant alcohol licenses to establishments. The question is in reference to last year’s discussions on whether the Board of Selectmen will begin to seats to apply for liquor licenses, when previously, a restaurant must have had 100 seats or more to apply for a liquor license.
  • Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
