Wellesley vs. Needham Thanksgiving Day Football Guide

WELLESLEY, MA – It's a rivalry that transcends millennia. Wellesley High School will take on Needham High School this Thanksgiving in a tradition spanning 134 years.

Here's what you need to know.

THE TEAMS

• Wellesley High School boasts a monstrous 10-1 record and is 6-0 in league play. The Raiders are flying high off of a 27-20 win against Brockton on Nov. 11.

• Needham High School sits even at 5-5 and is 4-4 in league play. But the Rockets are riding the momentum of a win against Franklin, and if the series record dating back to 1882 is any indication, this is anyone's game.

THE HISTORY

The oldest public school rivalry is also one of the closest, with Wellesley holding a 60-59-9 series lead against Needham.
