WELLESLEY — If you're trying to take your horse — more likely car — to Old Town Road, you might have trouble finding it. Since Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road" became a viral sensation and No. 1 hit, Wellesley town officials said the sign for the street has been stolen six times this summer, the Boston Globe reported.

The first few times the signs were stolen, the Department of Public Works replaced the signs, but the new ones would last less than a week before they were stolen again, according to town spokeswoman Stephanie Hawkinson. Wellesley officials decided not to replace the signs until the hype around the song dies because each sign cost between $250 and $280 to replace.

"We understand it’s a funny prank, but it’s also expensive for the town to replace the sign,"Hawkinson told the Boston Globe. "Also, for first responders who rely on GPS, if they’re not familiar with area, it could delay an emergency response."
