After covering Wellesley for over a year, I’ve learned that Wellesley is thankful for many things. Here are the editor’s picks in no particular order.

The new High School/Schools: School news often graces Patch’s pages for a reason: Wellesley cares deeply about its school system. Much of the town has come together for , a commemorating the closing of the 74 year old building.

The : It took only a few months since the first reporting before the Wellesley Police Department arrested a suspect from the . Over the course of the last year, the police department has also stepped up its public alert system.

Wellesley Square: The town’s oldest shopping district is , but the town government and merchants have been working for the entire last year toward coming up with a way to .

The new Whole Foods: The project was rumored to happen starting in September 2010, when Star Market gave up its lease. Sadly, , Wellesley’s beloved Chinese restaurant owned and operated by husband and wife Li Zhen Yu and Jian an Chen, as a result, but the community to Whole Foods' opening day in late August.
