• Master Gardener Tours During the 2026 Cape Cod Hydrangea Festival (capecod.gov) — West Yarmouth gardeners and plant lovers can tour a spectacular hydrangea collection at 121 Camp Street during the Cape Cod Hydrangea Festival, running July 10–19, 2026. The Master Gardener Association is opening seven private gardens across the Cape, with low-cost, drop-in tours, talks on container gardening and pollinator pathways, and proceeds supporting local scholarships and community programs. 
• Gabriel Barbosa, 22, was man who drowned at Mashpee Wakeby Pond: DA (capecodtimes.com) — A 22-year-old West Yarmouth man, Gabriel Barbosa, has been identified as the person who drowned Monday evening at Mashpee Wakeby Pond. Emergency crews pulled him from the water within about 20 minutes and rushed him to Falmouth Hospital, where he was pronounced dead; authorities say the circumstances are not considered suspicious.
• Cape Cod man faces manslaughter after overdose deaths at Yarmouth beach (capecodtimes.com) — A 29-year-old West Yarmouth resident has been charged with two counts of manslaughter in connection with 2024 overdose deaths at Englewood Beach in Yarmouth. Prosecutors say video and phone records link him to the men who died, and he’s being held on high bail while the case proceeds in Barnstable Superior Court.
