5 Things to Know Today: Feb. 10
Check your calendar to make sure your family's eye and dental exams are up to date.

1. February is AMD/Low Vision Awareness Month, a designation created by the group Prevent Blindness America. It is also a reminder to book your family eye appointments. Information on eye disease and warning signs can be found on the Prevent Blindness America Website.
2. The hosts Two-Time, a story hour for children ages 2 to 3 with caregivers. The free program begins today at 10:30 a.m. in the Children’s Room at 55 West Main St. No registration is required.
3. National Black History Month is celebrated in February, recognizing the achievements and contributions of African Americans. The designation dates back to 1926 when it was first declared by Dr. Carter G. Woodson. At that time, it was a one week observance. It became a month long event in 1976.
