WESTBOROUGH, MA — Two local students have been named recipients of the 2026 WASA Scholarship.

Samantha Kelley and Jillian Degnan each received $1,500 scholarships from the Westborough Athletic and Social Association, which supports Westborough students through scholarships, local organizations and community events, according to an announcement from WASA.

"We're proud to support two outstanding students as they take the next step in their educational journey," the organization wrote in an announcement. "At WASA, we believe strong communities are built by investing in the people who make them stronger. Whether it's scholarships, local organizations, or community events, we're committed to giving back and supporting the place we're proud to call home."

WASA says it provides five scholarships to Westborough students and one graduate each year, including Founder’s Scholarships, a partnership scholarship with Prototype Training Systems, a vocational scholarship and a returning college sophomore scholarship.

The organization, which has helped Westborough youth since 1935, has donated more than $100,000 to local youth programs and scholarships over the years.

Earlier this year, WASA announced it would award $1,500 scholarships in 2026 to support local students pursuing higher education.

WASA said residents who know of a student, nonprofit, or community initiative that could use support can contact them.
