WESTBOROUGH, MA — Westborough police handled slightly fewer calls in August even as arrests, incident reports and several other activity categories increased.
The department recorded 17 arrests, 29 criminal summonses, 208 incident reports, 54 traffic accidents, 412 traffic stops, 22 jail diversion program assists and 2,417 total calls during the month, according to statistics announced on Friday.
Total calls fell by 51 from July, when police handled 2,468 calls, according to last month's report.
Arrests increased from 14 in July to 17 in August, while criminal summonses rose from 26 to 29. Incident reports increased from 188 to 208 and traffic accidents rose from 50 to 54.
Jail diversion program assists increased from six in July to 22 in August. Traffic stops declined from 496 to 412.
