Westborough Police Arrests, Crashes Declined In July

WESTBOROUGH, MA — Westborough police reported fewer arrests, traffic accidents and total calls in July compared with the previous month.

The department recorded 14 arrests, 26 criminal summonses, 188 incident reports, 50 traffic accidents, 496 traffic stops, six jail diversion program assists and 2,468 total calls in July.

Total calls fell by 98 from June, when police handled 2,566 calls, according to last month’s report.

Arrests declined from 21 in June to 14 in July, while traffic accidents dropped from 75 to 50. Jail diversion program assists fell from 24 to six.

Traffic stops increased slightly from 495 in June to 496 in July. Incident reports declined from 189 to 188, while criminal summonses fell from 27 to 26.
