The MCOPA credited Minardi with supporting its Community Engagement Team and building relationships with local schools, seniors, businesses, nonprofits and faith communities.

"Chief Minardi has created opportunities for officers and community members to become true partners," the MCOPA wrote in the announcement.

Minardi was also credited with spearheading the creation of the Westborough Police Foundation, which gives officers and community members opportunities to work together.

MCOPA President and Police Chief Shane Woodson presented the award to Minardi.

"Congratulations, Chief Minardi, and thank you for your commitment to community policing and the people of Westborough," the MCOPA wrote in the announcement.
