Westborough Chief Leaving For Falmouth: Select Board May Offer Role To Deputy
Westborough Chief Jeff Lourie was picked to lead Falmouth police in May over two other contenders.
WESTBOROUGH, MA — A Westborough deputy police chief may take over the department Tuesday with Chief Jeffrey Lourie moving to become chief in Falmouth.
The Westborough Select Board of Tuesday will take up several matters related to the leadership of the department, including setting up a chief search committee and elevating Deputy Chief Todd Minardi to interim chief.
Lourie was one of three finalists for the Falmouth job. He was offered the job on May 16 after being named a finalist along with Falmouth Capt. Brian Reid and Falmouth Lt. Sean Doyle, according to the Falmouth Enterprise.

Westborough hired Lourie as chief in early 2018 after he led the Uxbridge department. Falmouth Chief Edward Dunne retired, creating a vacancy at the head of the department.
Minardi has been with Westborough police for more than 15 years and served as a lieutenant until he was promoted to deputy chief in 2018. Minardi also serves as a director on the board of the Westborough Police Foundation.
