Beth Tikvah Congregation Hosts Annual Trivia Nite
Auction's proceeds to fund new Wendy Steinberg Scholarship Fund.
Teams with such colorful names as The Wise Guys, 90’s Kids and Lucky 7 competed for glory Saturday evening at annual Trivia Night.
Hosted by Master of Ceremonies Dennis Lindenberg, the event attracted a large gathering at the in Westborough. Led by a trivia jockey from Stump Trivia! the friendly competition covered a wide array of topics.
While competitors sampled desserts and drinks, Beth Tikvah President Bob Siegel announced that proceeds from the auction would benefit a new scholarship fund to assist children wishing to attend Beth Tikvah’s religious school.
The fund, established by Rob Steinberg and Beth Tikvah’s leadership, honors the memory of Rob’s wife Wendy. Their two daughters attend Beth Tikvah’s religious school.

“We raised $1,800 for the fund,” said EJ Dotts, Beth Tikvah Board member and educator. “The money from the entrance fee went towards event expenses and the general fund.”
Silent auction items included a variety of gift certificates to Westborough and Northborough establishments, as well as jewelry, math tutoring and auto services. Live auction items included Red Sox and Revolution tickets.

The competition covered the full gamut of topics: Sports, Theater, Landmarks, History, Religion and Music, and Movies. A couple of the more obscure categories (“Beverages, Native Houstonians”) kept the game going.
Before it was all over, winning team “The Wise Guys” won the grand prize with a total of 101 points, 14 points ahead of their nearest competitor.
