Civic Club elects 2016 Executive Board

Westborough Civic Club members recently met to consider nominations to the Club’s Executive Committee for 2016/17 and is pleased to announce that the elected officers for the year will be: President – Steve Hart; Vice-President – Gene McMahon; Treasurer – Prentice Gove; Secretary – Walter Leslie. President Emeritus is past President and long serving member, Adam Boyce.

Incoming President Hart paid special thanks to Adam Boyce for his fortitude and guidance the last two years as President and stated his belief that the Club has continued to establish itself within the fabric of the town. He confirmed his desire to see that good work continue, as demonstrated by the Clubs ability to continue to make donations to organisations and individuals from across the town. These have included six $1,000 scholarships to graduating students from Westborough, an increase in donations made to the Food Pantry and financial support of over thirty other organizations in town. The Club is also a Diamond sponsor of the Westborough Playground at the Commons having pledged $25,000 towards the cost of the project. Hart conluded by stating that one of his aims during the coming year is to attract more people to consider joining the Club as members.
