Concert Honors Black History Month

Choir members from several churches join together to perform in Westborough.

The will celebrate African-American history on Sunday, Feb. 26 at 4 p.m. Choir members from the Congregational Church, Seventh Day Adventist Church of Worcester, and many more from other houses of worship in Westborough and the surrounding area will be joining in for this event.

Spirituals and gospel music will celebrate and honor Black History Month. Among the songs are Down to the River to Pray, featured in the movie O Brother, Where Art Thou? as well as Peter, Go Ring Dem Bells, Ride Up in the Chariot, and Lift Every Voice and Sing.

This concert has become an annual event among the joint churches led by Music Director Curtis Richardson. 

The Congregational Church of Westborough is located at the corner of Church and West Main streets in Westborough and is handicapped accessible. Free will donations will be gratefully accepted and all proceeds from the concert go toward music ministry. Refreshments will be served in the Vestry afterwards.
