Wedged between the two entrances of the , has been set like a cornerstone on the rotary for 20 years. Deborah Limanek, owner of this unique stained glass gift shop told Westborough Patch, "In my opinion, is the heart of downtown Westborough."
Limanek chose the name from her fascination with herons. "I first saw a heron in the 1970s when one of these huge birds flew over my car. I thought that it was a pterodactyl," she said. "Herons are everywhere in my life. I believe in animal totems. Herons teach us grace and patience. Look how beautiful they are in their big body, and look how patient they are when the hunt. They don't move."

Her interest in stained glass dates back to 1973, when she learned the basics from Carl Paulson, a well-known master. Paulson, who owned the Raven Shop in Upton, offered an introductory class in stained glass making in her town, Whitinsville, where Limanek still lives. Limanek says that she taught herself the rest.
The Glass Heron features stained glass pieces along with an interesting mix of gifts. Limanek has completed several large stained glass pieces that feature herons. She makes custom stained glass pieces, ranging from large wall hangings and window inserts to wedding invitation frames. The store also carries custom Polish pottery, Russian stacking dolls, whimsical socks by the Vermont Socklady, Wild Woman clothing, cards and jewelry.
