Dykema Honored With Environmental Award

The state representative worked with the nursery and landscape community in developing a bill to provide an agricultural investment tax credit for small agricultural businesses.

State Rep. Carolyn Dykema, D-Holliston and representative of Westborough Precinct 2, was presented the 2012 Environmental Leadership Award from the Massachusetts Nursery and Landscape Association (MNLA) at the annual New England Grows Convention on Feb. 2.

“I’m very grateful to receive this award,” said Dykema. “Agriculture is part of our heritage here in Massachusetts and I’m proud of the work we’ve done together to promote the industry’s continued success.”

Dykema worked with the nursery and landscape community in developing a bill to provide an agricultural investment tax credit for small agricultural businesses, which is currently being considered by the Committee on Revenue.  She also serves as a co-chairperson of the Water Infrastructure Finance Commission and is a member of the Joint Committee on the Environment, Natural Resources, & Agriculture.

MNLA is a non-profit organization that represents nursery and landscape professionals in Massachusetts.  The MNLA Environmental Leadership Award recognizes individuals who have consistently provided informed leadership in dealing with complex environmental issues.
