The Westborough Public Library will host award-winning artist Gregory John Maichack for a workshop for adults entitled, “The Pastel Art of Georgia O’Keefe.” This program is free and open to the public, but space is limited, so please call the library at 508-366-3050 to register for this free workshop.
Mr. Maichack will give participants an engaging hands-on demo/lesson of basic and advanced pastel painting techniques. Beginners to accomplished artists benefit, side-by-side. All will try their hand at starting a pastel painting. Participants are encouraged to freely experiment with hundreds of the artist’s professional grade hard and soft pastels, and professional pastel paper.
Mr. Maichack is a faculty member of the Quadrangle Museum School at the Museum of Fine Arts in Springfield and he also teaches at Greenfield and Holyoke Community Colleges.
This program is supported in part from a grant from the Westborough Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. Thanks to The Friends of the Westborough Public Library for also supporting this workshop.
