Flooring and Design Store Opens in Westborough
Westborough resident Kate LaCount is moving her showroom from Harvard to Westborough.
After the loss of several high profile companies in town, it is welcoming to see a fresh retail sign on the Westborough landscape. Today, in the Colonial Plaza at 45 East Main St., Rooms with a View is opening its doors to Westborough.
"I see a thriving and growing community in Westborough and its surrounding towns. I'm really excited about moving my flooring and design business here," Kate LaCount, a resident of Westborough and owner of Rooms with a View told Westborough Patch. She continued, "We're going to bring a new level of service and variety of materials to this area."
A Grand Opening event is planned for May 11. LaCount's daughter, Nicole Bücher will be working with her in the showroom.

Rooms with a View is a well-established business that has been based in Harvard for the past 11 years. Prior to her business in Harvard, LaCount worked for Creighton Floor Coverings/Contempo Interiors in Lancaster, Moore Lumber in Ayer, and Only Flooring in Sudbury. She also ran an interior design and custom window treatment business out of her home when she lived in Shirley. In all, LaCount brings 25 years of experience to the table (actually the floor).
Completed projects can be seen in photographs on her website. LaCount said, "When you invest time and money into a project, it's worth getting good advice. We're not the highest or the lowest cost-wise, but the service that we provide is invaluable."

Kate LaCount said she has three-pronged approach to her business: variety of items, quality design support, and expert installation. She said she maintains a full-time master tile crew. In addition, she contracts three other established master crews for hardwood and bamboo, specialty installations, and carpet. LaCount added, "I don't have a Rolodex of contractors."
Rooms with a View sells imported tile, stone and glass, and a variety of environmentally-friendly flooring products, including bamboo, cork, Marmoleum, and hardwood. The showroom also carries interior finish materials (counter top granite, Corian, and plumbing fixtures). LaCount offers decorating services and color consulting. She also does bathroom renovations with a team that includes a carpenter who builds custom cabinetry, a plumber, and an electrician.
LaCount said she partners with the Westborough Design Center and hopes to do so with other area businesses.
