Gas Prices Inching Up This Week

Westborough gas prices span a 26 cent range in town this morning, from a high of $3.65⁹ to a low of $3.39^9. Despite the fluctuation, the average price in Westborough for regular unleaded gas remains above the state average as reported by AAA Southern New England.

AAA’s Oct. 17 survey of prices in Massachusetts finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.42⁹ per gallon, up a penny from last week, the first increase since Sept. 12. The current price is four cents below the national average for self serve unleaded of $3.46. A year ago at this time, the Massachusetts average price was $2.78, 64 cents lower than today’s average.

A quick survey of town gas stations between 11:30 a.m. and noon today showed the following cash prices for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline:
