A Shrewsbury resident and member of a Westborough troop got the Girl Scout Gold Award.

WESTBOROUGH, MA—AIshwarya Khanna of Shrewsbury has received her Girl Scout Gold Award. A member of Westborough Girl Scout troop 30633, dancing, she said in an announcement, played a huge role in shaping the person that she is today.

Since performing always made her happy, and Khanna never seemed to be able to find any program that included children with special needs or disabilities, she wanted to share her happiness that she found by dancing. Working with the Westborough Recreation Department's sports division, she created Unified Dance.

In this program, the kids were given an opportunity to learn formal dance instruction, and freestyle to express themselves, said the announcement. Khanna wrote three curriculum that volunteers can use to continue the program.
