IMAGE GALLERY: Hundreds Enjoy Taste of the Boroughs

The Sunday event was a benefit for the Boroughs JCC.

Over 250 people packed the ballroom at the on Sunday, March 27, to attend the annual Taste of the Boroughs.

Guests were treated to scrumptious food samples from dozens of area restaurants and caterers including , , Sorrentos, , , Texas BBQ Company and many others.

Along with socializing and sampling some of the restaurant’s best fare, provided wine and craft beer tasting at multiple stations.

As people enjoyed the food and libations, they browsed nearly 100 silent auction offerings, including sports memorabilia, spa packages, museum passes, class projects and themed baskets among many more.

Vice-President of Development and Marketing Dave Crandall periodically gathered the crowd for several live auction lots, including Red Sox tickets, dinner and a show and a unique “Local and Homegrown” lot featuring a half-share CSA at Nourse Farm and a gift certificate for Deja Brew in Shrewsbury.  The final live auction lot, a quartet of field box Red Sox seats sold for $1,000.

A final highlight of the evening included the raffle of a coveted iPad 2, which reportedly was obtained by a Boroughs JCC board member who waited in line in the wee hours of the night at a local business to secure the iPad 2 for the event.  Raffle tickets were sold for $25 a piece and one lucky winner brought home the iPad 2.

Proceeds from Taste of the Boroughs benefit the preschool and community programs at the Boroughs JCC.
