IMAGE GALLERY: Young Musicians Perform in Local Recital

On Sunday, Nov. 13, over 70 budding musicians from Karen Amlaw Music on Milk Street in Westborough joined together to perform for friends and family as part of the Fifth Annual Young Musicians’ Recital Series. In a series of four recitals throughout the afternoon, students performed on piano, keyboard and violin.

The Young Musicians’ Recital is a bi-annual event. Each recital spans a variety of experience levels from very beginners in the Kids on Keys Program to more advanced students playing pieces like Strauss’ Tales from the Vienna Woods or accompanying the audience in a sing-a-long of The Twelve Days of Christmas.  

Over the past five years, this Westborough recital series has grown from about 30 students performing in just two recital times to over 70 students sharing in four recital times. 

This fall’s participating youngsters were residents of several area towns including:

Westborough: Sohan Arigela, Alex Arneth, Chase Crandall, Mansi Gera, Maria Gobran, Nitya Gundamaraju, Shriya Gundamaraju, Conor Kincaid, Megan Kincaid, Maeve McMahon, Diya Mathew, Simran More, Harshada Nagarajan, Harshitha Narahari, Manasa Pamujula, Pranav Praburam, Neha Prasad, Carlina Romano, Vishisht Seku, Krapakashi Sharma, Shreya Vaidyanathan, Vignesh Vanchinathan, Adway Wadekar, Amelia Wahlers, Ella Wahlers, Emerson Whitney Waite, Estella Yan, Ilyssa Yan and Mindy Zheng;

Shrewsbury: Matthew Brinkmann, Akshay Ganesh, Victor Verma,  Jenna LeDuc, Amith Chintalapati, Connor Morin, Maya Wu, Ethan Wu, Eric Justin, Nidhi Pednekar, Suraj Swamy, Shraeya Iyer and Elizabeth Kennedy;

Northborough: Amanda Ares, Amanda Brossi, Annabella Ferraiuolo, Sumedha Sane and Emma Stott;

Marlborough: Gabriel Hurez-Soler, Samantha Nie, Marissa Petty and Jessica Rosenzweig;

The next Young Musicians’ Recital Series performances are scheduled to take place on Sunday, June 3, 2012.
