Funeral services have been set for a Massachusetts State Trooper who died Sunday from injuries suffered in a motorcycle crash.

WESTBOROUGH, MA — Funeral services have been set for a Massachusetts State Trooper who died Sunday from injuries suffered in a motorcycle crash.
Jacob G. Mick, 31, died June 28 after an off-duty motorcycle crash in Grafton.
Mick is being remembered for "his confidence, his infectious smile, and his ability to make others feel welcome," according to his obituary. "His unexpected and untimely passing leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of those who loved him, but the love and time he gave of himself will not be forgotten.”

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. July 7 at Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St. in Northborough, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass July 8 at Saint Rose of Lima Parish, 244 West Main St. in Northborough, according to his obituary.
Mick was assigned to the Holden Barracks and graduated from the Massachusetts State Police Academy in 2023 as a member of the 88th Recruit Training Troop, state police said.

He was raised in Hudson before moving to Northborough and graduated from Algonquin Regional High School in 2013, according to his obituary. He later earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Worcester State University.
Before joining the state police, Mick worked with the Stow and Northborough police departments after completing the State Police Municipal Academy, according to his obituary.
State Police Superintendent Col. Geoffrey Noble said Monday that the department was mourning Mick’s death and extended condolences to his wife, daughter and family.
“He was a proud Trooper and public servant who never hesitated to answer the call,” Noble said in a statement, according to state police.
The crash remained under investigation by the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office, state police said Monday.
In lieu of flowers, Mick’s family asked that memorial donations be directed to benefit his daughter, Natalie. Donations may be sent to Avidia Bank, c/o Kim Perkins, 100 E. Main St., Westborough, MA 01581, according to the obituary.
