Learning Express Toys Collecting New and Nearly New Toys for Room to Grow

During the month of September, Learning Express Toys in Westborough is collecting new and nearly new toys for Room to Grow

Room to Grow, a nonprofit organization in Boston, is dedicated to building a strong foundation for babies in poverty. Customers of Learning Express Toys, the nation’s leading franchisor of educational toy stores, can donate new and nearly new toys appropriate for newborns through age three at the Westborough location during the month of September.

Families who have been referred by prenatal programs assisting low-income women come to Room to Grow every three months until their child’s third birthday. At each visit, families meet with Room to Grow staff social workers and receive customized parenting support, developmental information and access to community resources. Additionally, families leave each visit with all the baby essentials their child needs. This unique combination of social work support along with material resources from birth to age 3 is designed to help the most vulnerable children get a strong start in life.

Research has shown that the first three years of a child’s life are critical for the development of their intellect, personality, and skills. By focusing on these early years, Room to Grow provides children with the foundation they need to enter school prepared, giving them a better chance to thrive and succeed in life.
