Local Students Perform 'Urinetown: The Musical'
Tickets are available for the July 9 and 10 shows.

Students from grades 8 through 12 from Westborough, Shrewsbury, Northborough and surrounding communities will be performing Urinetown: The Musical, Saturday, July 9 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, July 10 at 2 p.m. at the Oak Middle School, 45 Oak St., Shrewsbury.
Urinetown is a comical tale of greed, corruption, love, and revolution in a time when water is worth its weight in gold. In a grim Gotham-like city of the future, a 20-year drought has occurred. As a result, the government has banned private toiletries and the citizens must use pay-to-pee toilets regulated by a monopolistic company, the Urine Good Company, which charges exorbitant prices. Bobby Strong, the assistant custodian at the poorest urinal in town, decides enough is enough. With the help of the daughter of the CEO of the Urine Good Company, Hope Cladwell, Bobby ends up leading a rebellion which frees the citizens.
The show is produced by a new theater company, Centre Stage Productions, and directed by Nathan Colby. The musical director is Michael Lapomardo.
