On Tuesday, July 12, as restaurant staff swiftly set tables, stocked shelves, worked in the kitchen and tidied the dining area, Jack Kim, general manager of Mandarin Westboro, told Westborough Patch that that the restaurant “may open as soon as Wednesday or Thursday, but by the weekend for certain.”

Mandarin Westboro has always been known for its luncheon buffet and Kim said, "We expanded the buffet. It will still have established favorites and will rotate varying specials. It will never get boring.”

Westboro Mandarin will also offer table-top cooking at the new location. Kim pointed out that cook-top hot plates dot the center of seven tables in the rear of the restaurant. “This allows for the freshest meal possible. The maximum freshness of the food will make it bursting with flavor. The server will guide the diner to help select and cook the food.”

Kim, who formerly worked at the Boston Harbor Hotel, took Westborough Patch on a tour of the new facility, pointing out many of the special touches that had been taken into consideration for the new location.

Upon entering the restaurant, diners will find it hard to miss the tall, modern waterfall which cascades into a small pool filled with colorful Koi fish.

Bamboo poles line interior windows, enhancing the atmosphere and neutral décor palette.

Kim took pride in the fact that booth seating was selected to maximize support. “We customized the top tier booth seating to offer an orthopedic design and encourage proper posture while dining.”

Outdoor patio dining will be available, and there is a spacious Italian marble bar and comfortable waiting area for customers to gather.
