MassDOT is holding public meetings to discuss the progress of the I-495/Route 9 Interchange Study during two meetings in March. The first will be in Westborough on Tuesday, March 20 at the 7 p.m. meeting.
MassDOT's Office of Transportation Planning is conducting the study of the interchange in Westborough, Southborough and the surrounding region, including the I-495 and I-90 interchange. The purpose of the study is to address traffic congestion and safety issues surrounding the interchanges as well as congestion impacts on the two highway facilities.

MassDOT will present the work completed so far in the 18-month study, which began in September 2011. This includes existing and forecast traffic conditions, economic growth analysis, and potential for improvements to the interchanges on I-495 as well as to Route 9.
A second meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 27 at 8:30 a.m. in the meeting room at 200 Friberg Parkway in Westborough. A meeting will also be held in Southborough at the end of April, though details have not yet been announced. All meetings are open to the public.
