Moment of Silence Observed at Interfaith Concert

Sunday's concert featured music from much of Westborough's interfaith community.

A moment of silence for those affected by the Boston Marathon tragedy was observed Sunday at the Westborough Interfaith Clergy Association's Sixth Annual Westborough Interfaith Community Concert.

Pastoral Counseling Centers of Massachusetts Board of Directors President Cam Sowa also asked the audience to “give thanks to those who jumped right in to help the wounded,” and to the volunteers, public safety and medical personnel, and others.

The Unitarian Universalist Congregational Society of Westborough's sanctuary drew a sizable crowd for the concert, "Making a Joyful Noise!", which featured music from much of the town's interfaith community. The proceeds will support the Assabet Valley Pastoral Counseling Center's assistance fund.

“This is such a wonderful time for us to come together as a larger community," said the Rev. Cynthia Frado, the Unitarian church's minister.

"There’s been such a crisis in grief this week, and certainly we’ve always pulled together in those moments of our greatest struggles of strife. But, it’s such a joy to come together and sing for other joy, and from our hearts."
