Mystery Bomb Found In Local Man's Backyard: Patch PM

WESTBOROUGH, MA — Welcome to the beginning of another work week, and hopefully you had a restful weekend — unlike one Westborough resident.

Westborough officers and the state police bomb squad responded to a Hyde Street home on Sunday after the owner unearthed an old mortar round in his yard.

Even more odd: authorities don't know where the mortar round came from, how old it is or how it ended up buried in a suburban yard.
