Overnight Fire Breaks Out At Westborough Hotel

A fire at the DoubleTree Hotel sent heavy smoke throughout the building, according to Westborough fire officials.

WESTBOROUGH, MA — Westborough firefighters quickly knocked down a fire at the DoubleTree Hotel after responding to an automatic alarm that revealed heavy smoke throughout the building, officials announced early Friday morning.

Crews were dispatched early Friday to 5400 Computer Drive, the site of the DoubleTree Hotel, for an automatic fire alarm. When firefighters arrived, they discovered an active fire in the laundry room located in the building’s basement.

Firefighters encountered smoke throughout all four stories of the hotel as crews worked to locate and extinguish the blaze. Westborough Engine 2 quickly knocked down the fire, preventing further spread inside the structure.

The department also thanked several mutual aid partners who assisted at the scene, including the Northborough Fire Department, Southborough Fire Department and Hopkinton Firefighters Local 3772.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was not immediately available.
