Patch Blogger Offers eBook to Simplify Thanksgiving

Westborough Patch blogger and School Committee member Bruce Tretter just published an instructional ebook about holiday cooking, just in time for the Thanksgiving. Stress-Free Quick & Easy Thanksgiving Dinner is a step-by-step picture and video manual that shows how to make five popular Thanksgiving recipes: roast turkey, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce.

“The key is showing, not telling,” Tretter said. “My passion is making the difficult easy to understand. I help new cooks feel comfortable making a meal on their own as quickly, easily and flavorfully as possible through picture book and video cooking.”

Using an iPad, Tretter demonstrated the publication. A user reads through simple directions and clicks to links with photos or short video clips. The format makes it convenient to set a laptop or smart phone in the kitchen to reference the recipe instructions while making the meal. He also included a timing guide and shopping list.

Tretter’s guide is available for about seven dollars and can be found at Amazon (Kindle), iTunes (iPhone/iPad) and ebookit.com. He said it will soon be offered at the diesel eBook Store, Kobo (Nook) and Sony eReader Book Store.

In addition, $1 from every sale will be donated to Share Our Strength, a national food aid charity dedicated to ending childhood hunger in the US by 2015.

“Since Thanksgiving is a very American holiday, the book gives back by helping to eliminate a very specific American hunger problem,” he said.
