Ring in the New Year Close to Home

Are you wondering what to do to celebrate New Year's Eve? Perhaps you have seen the ball drop in Times Square one too many times, and watching a movie just doesn't sound as good as it used to. So you're thinking you want to go out, but just aren't sure where to go, but you know you don't want to face the crowds in Boston. 

Don't despair! Westborough Patch has put together a listing of local festivities just for you. Westborough and our neighboring towns are ready to celebrate the big night with some lively offerings.

Westborough Restaurants and Events

Bergson's 1790 Restaurant & Tavern - New Year's Eve dining begins at 5:00 p.m.; Steve Soares Duo plays from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.; special menu; reservations only.

Central House - Serving the regular menu until 1:00 a.m.

Congregation B'nai Shalom New Year's Eve Party - 7:30 p.m. service;  8:30 p.m. cocktail hour; 9:30 p.m. dinner and dancing with a DJ; reservations needed ASAP to give caterer count; $50 per person.

Il Forno -Open for dinner 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.; special menu.

Tavolino - New Year's Eve menu; live entertainment from "Hit the Bus"; complimentary champagne toast at midnight.

Ted's Montana Grill - Open for dinner until 11:00 p.m.

Uno's Chicago Grill - Family friendly, early New Year's Eve celebration. At 7:00 p.m., Uno's will have a countdown and "ball" drop (balloons). They will serve sparkling ginger-ale grape juice drinks and have crafts, noisemakers and tiaras for the kids. They will also have their regular make-your-own pizzas for the kids. The regular menu will be available until 12:30 a.m. There is no additional cost for the children's activities.

 A few New Year's Eve notes:

* Harry's is closed.

* Mulligan's Taverne is closed for a private party.

* JP's Restaurant & Pub will close at 3:00 p.m.

* Most other Westborough restaurants will be open regular hours serving their usual menus.

Northborough Restaurants and Bars

Bistro Limoncello - Dinner and dancing to the music of Manny Barrows and TWYCE, performing Motown and R&B favorites. Reservations suggested.

Celtic Tavern - New Year's Eve Bash with live music 8:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. 

Guiseppe's Grill - Serving their regular menu, plus specials and prime rib. Entertainment by the Uptown Attaboys from 8:00 p.m. until closing.

JJ's Sports Bar and Grill - New Year's Eve Bash with Fuzion from 9:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. 

The Steakloft - Dinner served from 4:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m., with a party going until 1:00 a.m. Reservations suggested. 

Southborough, Shrewsbury and Grafton Restaurants

Amici Trattoria (Shrewsbury) - Special menu; no reservations.

Buca Di Beppo (Shrewsbury) - Begins at 9:00 p.m.; 5 course menu includes a champagne toast and party favors; $45 per person; $20 for children 10 and under; reservations required.

Tomasso (Southborough) - Four course menu (a la carte menu also available); champagne; seatings at 5:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.; $55 per person.

25 On the Common (Grafton) - Champagne included with all New Year's Eve specials; fireside dining.

Willy's Steakhouse Grill & Sushi Bar (Shrewsbury) - Price fixed special menu; reservations required;
