Elsie Kaye Gift Shop &amp; Artisan Studio In 2009, on a whim, Holly Kenny took a flameworking class and learned to make glass beads. This sparked a love of glass art and led to the launch her business, Elsie Kaye Gift Shop and Art Studio in downtown Westborough. Holly currently teaches flameworking and metalworking at her studio and is on the faculty at the New England Craft Program in Williamsburg, MA. Holly loves the fluidity and movement of glass and enjoys incorporating metals, enamels and other elements that can change the texture and appearance of the glass. As a result, much of her work takes on an abstract, organic feel. Her work, under the name Elsie Kaye Glassworks, can be found at more than 50 boutiques and galleries across the country. Holly is passionate about promoting emerging local artists by selling their work at her retail shop, as well as helping to foster connections with new and existing businesses in the local area. She is an active member of her community, where she has lived with her husband and two children since 2006.

Anyone still needing a Christmas tree should know that while the Civic Club lot on East Main St still has a good selection to choose from, it is dwindling fast, according to organizers. Club Secretary Walter Leslie highlighted the fact that there were about 175 trees left at this time last year but all were sold by the final Sunday before Christmas. "'This year, due to the good weather and steady sales we are already down to about 150 trees," she said in an announcement. "While we hate to disappoint anyone looking, with another weekend to go before Christmas it is a case of first come, first served.' The lot is open 1-9 p.m. weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends and on Saturday, there is the added attraction of The FC Blazers U14 Elite Boys Soccer Team who will be hosting a Krispy Kreme Donut fundraiser on site from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. 'We are hoping folks take the opportunity come on down to support not one but two great causes' Leslie said. .
