Stop & Shop Giving Away Gift Cards Today
The store is participating in a promotion to encourage shoppers to buy store brands.
The location in Speedway Plaza, 290 Turnpike Rd., plans to randomly hand out $5 gift cards today.
“On-site Brands Patrol members will hand out $5 gift cards to customers for every Stop & Shop Own Brands item they have in their cart,” said Suzi Robinson, spokesperson for Stop & Shop. The award is capped at $50 per customer.
The giveaway is part of a $40,000 promotion that is running weekends through Oct. 9 in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, New York and New Jersey in which employees at Stop & Shop will reward customers for buying store brand items. The employees giving away the gift cards are considered members of the Stop & Shop Brands Patrol.

The Stop & Shop Own Brands include: Stop & Shop Brand, Nature’s Promise, Simply Enjoy, Guaranteed Value, CareOne, Companion and Cottontails.
Robinson said that the promotion will run at the Speedway Plaza location today. Shoppers may also be selected at random for additional savings at the checkout.
