Town's Spraying For Gypsy Moths, Which Threaten To Invade This Spring
If you thought last year was bad, brace yourself for another gypsy moth infestation.

WESTBOROUGH, MA — Last year's infestation broke records, and experts say we're in for another doozy of a gypsy moth takeover. State environmental officials in January announced a prediction of another year of "defoliation from the gypsy moth." Following widespread defoliation by the invasive gypsy moth in 2016, state environmental officials are predicting another season of "higher than usual" caterpillar feeding in 2017.
Rest assured that Westborough's on it. The town announced this week that it will be spraying for the annoying little buggers starting in the spring.
"We will be spraying in May, as that is the optimal time to prevent the moths from laying eggs," said the town's announcement.
