Troop 4 Westborough-Shrewsbury newsletter

The events of Troop 4 Westborough-Shrewsbury over the past month

The month of September has been a big month for Troop 4 Westborough-Shrewsbury. The troop gained 2 new eagles throughout the month. Both Scott McCullough and Ben Huber had their eagle Court of Honors, marking their ascension to the highest honor in scouting, Eagle Scout. The troop has started its weekly meetings at the Ray Stone Post in Shrewsbury on Thursday nights at 7pm. Any prospective scouts who want to come by and check out the troop are welcome. We had our first trip of the scouting year up in New Hampshire kayaking on The Saco River and climbing on the Cranmore ropes course. The water was a little cold but the scouts didn’t seem to mind it when an impromptu splash fight occurred over the “privilege” of carrying the Gatorade jug. Then on Sunday they all went to the Cranmore ropes course where scouts were attempting all levels of difficulty from Logan Garber completing the black diamond ropes course to the adults narrowly escaping the easier of the 2 blue square courses. During the upcoming month of October, we will be having 2 more trips. One of the trips will be our annual bike and fishing trip at Nickerson State Park. The other trip will be to Camp resolute for a day of fun and learning with the Webelos of the area.
