Utica, N.Y. Medical Techology Firm Buying Westborough Company

A Utica, N.Y. medical technology firm has agreed to acquire a Westborough company that makes "3D and 2D visualization solutions for complex minimally invasive surgery," the companies announced today.

CONMED Corp. will pay $0.27 in cash per share for Viking Systems Inc., located at 134 Flanders Road, Westborough, the firms said in a press release.

The deal is expected to be done during the fourth quarter of this year, the companies said.

"This is a significant milestone for Viking," Viking President and CEO Jed Kennedy said in the statement. 

"We are excited to join together with CONMED, which shares our vision for 3D-HD surgical imaging and has an established reputation for innovation and excellent customer service. Viking's Board of Directors recommends that all stockholders tender all their shares into CONMED's offer."
