Westborough Artist Featured in Juried Show

A graphite on paper drawing by Stefanie Bradie, owner of Out of Line Art and Design, has been accepted in a juried show at the Worcester Art Museum.

Westborough resident Stefanie Bradie, owner of Out of Line Art and Design, a local art studio, joins other local and regional artists featured in a juried show, Art of Here and Now, at the Worcester Art Museum (WAM) from June 16 to August 12. According to the WAM website, the show features "the work of local and regional artists who are commenting/appropriating/reflecting/discarding and creating art in the context of our own time."

Juried by artist Annette Lemieux and held in partnership with ArtsWorcester, the show is located on the first floor of WAM in the Higgins Education Wing. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, June 16, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Bradie's accepted piece, Among My Souveniers, is done with graphite on paper. The drawing is based on a photograph of her mother, possibly with herself in the pram.

When Bradie submitted her piece to WAM, she said, "This drawing and the artist statement have really cemented for me the result of a self-discovery process I have undertaken the past few years. I have slowed down, taken time for meditation and in many ways returned to the things I loved to do as a child. There is nothing simpler and nothing holds more possibilities for me than paper, a pencil and time to draw."
