Westborough Grad Receives Wegmans Scholarship

Nicole Blanchard, 2011 graduate of , received a $500 scholarship grant from Wegmans Food Markets in Northborough. She was one of seven high school graduates in Worcester County to receive the award.

“I’m proud of our Employee Scholarship Program, and especially pleased to award scholarship grants even before the store opens,” said store manager Kevin Russell. The Northborough location of Wegmans is scheduled to open in October.

According to a company statement, “school administrators were asked by Wegmans to select recipients who exemplify Wegmans Who We Are values: caring, respect, high standards, empowerment, and making a difference."

The grant is part of the supermarket’s annual Employee Scholarship Program, which helps part-time or full-time store employees build academic foundations for their futures.
