'This is the Day You Have All Waited For'
The Westborough High School Class of 2013 graduated Saturday night.
Westborough High School's latest brightest graduated Saturday night under bright sunshine.
Members of the Class of 2013 received their diplomas on the school field in front of their teachers and relatives, mere hours after rain soaked the region.
The seniors walked to the field as the Westborough High School Band, led by Conductor Matthew Lefebvre, performed “Pomp and Circumstance.”

The Senior Choral Union, directed by Alyson Greer Espinosa, then sung the “Star-Spangled Banner.”
Student Council President Margaret Sharma reflected on how time is “often measured in milestones. She noted her experiences from Kindergarten, her pre-teen years, and receiving her driver’s license.

Principal John Smith told the graduates that "four years have passed since you cae to our Ranger family," and offered congratulations. Smith addressed a Westborough High graduating class for the final time. He will become headmaster of Dover-Sherborn High School on July 1, ending six years here.
Salutatorian Alexander DeFiore quoted Dr. Seuss during his address: "I like nonsense. It wakes up the brain cells."
Assistant Principals Brian Callaghan and Dr. Carol Cavanaugh read the list of scholarship recipients, who rose when their name was read.
The scholarships totalled "nearly $116,000," Callaghan said.
"We publicly commend this critical investment in the future of our graduates, and offer deep gratitude to each and every sponsoring business, organization, family and individual for this wonderful assistance," he said.
School Superintendent Marianne O'Connor noted that "This is the day that you have all waited for: the day you officially graduate from Westborough High School."
Valedictorian Erin Reynolds encouraged the graduates to be aware of the world around them.
"It's easy to get obsessed with our own little lives and our own problems, like paying the bills or getting an A on that test. We can get stressed out to the point where we overlook how absolutely amazing our world is," she said.
O'Connor, Smith and Westborough School Committee Chairman Ilyse Levine-Kanji conferred the diplomas.
